Rezension:

"(…) an album of mostly celebrated original and transcribed guitar works all performed on the accompanying CD by various celebrities from the classical guitar world who are all represented on the Naxos CD-Label. The music contained in this album ranges from the Renaissance, Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods (…) and performing these works on the disc are Alirio Diaz, Nigel North, Kevin Gallagher, Manuel Barrueco, Eduardo Fernandez, Ana Vidovic and Andres Segovia.

Michael Langer has written informative notes about the performance techniques required throughout the collection and also as each new musical era is encountered has given information about the composers and the performers. He has also edited the music and his suggested fingerings and position indications are all very practical and sensible (...) As collections of high grade concert material go, this is as good as the best of them, but with the added bonus of being able to listen to virtuoso guitarists playing the music."
